About Us

Uni-Aide Foundation was created in 1992 by a small group of concerned citizens of the Lower North Shore to help fellow residents with medical expenses.  Over the years, the Foundation evolved into a larger regional organization with multiple priorities and objectives, but, at its core, the focus has remained the same; to provide support, assistance and hope to those in need. As a registered charity, the Uni-Aide Foundation is administered and governed by an elected board of directors with representation from communities across the Lower North Shore. Lead by an Executive Director and a team of volunteers, the Uni-Aide Foundation is guided in its activities in the community by its mission and values which include: accountability, impact, inclusiveness, innovation, leadership, partnership, responsiveness and voluntarism.

Uni-Aide Foundation is a vehicle to support private sector organizations, foundations, governments and individuals that want to make a difference in the development of the Lower North Shore and it’s citizens. Our shared belief is that together we can better achieve our individual and collective goals, and at the same time make a difference in the lives of others by providing positive opportunities and experiences for those most in need.  “Alone we go fast, together we go far” is our guiding belief in the power of collaboration. We believe that when we come together to share our assets, knowledge, and experiences, we can support all stakeholders in staying involved in their investment, evaluating change together and staying responsive to the evolving needs and conditions of the communities of the Lower North Shore.

The mission of Uni-Aide Foundation is to support the population of the Lower North Shore financially burdened by illness and to enhance the quality of life for those living with health issues.
